Object: Read a book for one task from each corn maze.

~The Mazes~

1. Lafayette, IN: Exploration Acres

Over 20 acres, ten miles, and four mazes—are you game? You’ll find it all at Exploration Acres, an extensive corn maze mecca that’s ringing in 2021 with a tribute to Indiana car racing (if that’s your thing). This year, the attraction is making the search all the more sweet for those who enter: if you find the 28 posts on your maze map, you’ll be eligible to take advantage of rewards at local venues.
🌽 Read a book set in Indiana OR with a 20 or 10 (intact) or 4 in the page count (include page count) OR with car racing in the story.
Be Careful What You Wish For - Elizabeth Bevarly (HSE #2927 - Aug 2022) (Indiana) - Sept 18

2. Kuna, ID: Lowe Family Farmstead
Don't get flustered or "corn-fused," as folks at the Lowe Family Farmstead say. Sure, this 18-acre challenge is certainly tricky, but who wouldn't want to venture through a corn field designed with Idaho's natural gemstones in mind? (Fear not: A mini maize is available for those in your crew with little legs.) Be sure to stick around for the pumpkin patch, flower field, candy cannon, and potato sack slide.
🌽 Read a book set in Idaho OR with a 1 or 8 in the page count (include page count) OR with a character with "little legs" in the story.
A Fortune in the Family - Kathy Douglass (HSE #2906 - May 2022) (little legs) - Sept 2

3. Danville, VT: Great Vermont Corn Maze
Coined the largest maze in New England, this 24-acre setup is quite the undertaking. Looking for the scenic route? A 40-minute maze tour (with directions) is available for those who want to take it easy. But it’s not all about the corn maze here: the spooky Dead North Farmland of Terror operates on the first two Fridays and Saturdays in October, and needless to say, the Halloween experience is not for the faint of heart.
🌽 Read a book set in Vermont OR with a 0 or 4 in the page count (include page count) OR with something spooky in the story.

4. Sterling, MA: Davis Mega Maze
Davis Mega Maze lives up to its name with eight acres of winding paths that cover nearly three miles. But the fall attraction is about more than just navigating your way out of the twists and turns (heads up: that alone can take nearly three hours). Within the maze itself, there are fun photo ops and games like hammer bells and slingshots to keep wanderers entertained. If you have little ones who start to get antsy, Maze Masters stationed along the paths are able to assist.
🌽 Read a book set in a location that begins with M OR with a 3 or 8 in the page count (include page count) OR whose story contains twists and turns (your interpretation).
The Body in the Wall - Rita Herron (HI #2072 - May 2022) (twists and turns) - Sept 7

5. Ronks, PA: Cherry Crest Adventure Farm
Celebrating its 25th year, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm created a special corn maze this year that gives thanks to first responders—the design itself, believe it or not, was created by a former Disney Broadway producer. Grab a game board and try to solve the clues as you make your way through five acres of corn stalks. And if you're feeling really adventurous, try finding your way out of this bad boy in the dark (in the evenings, there’s a Flashlight Maze). Stick around for other fun farm activities like animal appearances, a hay chute, tractor rides, and plenty more.
🌽 Read a book set in Pennsylvania OR with a 2 or 5 in the page count (include page count) OR where you find the words tractor or flashlight in the text (share page #).

6. Manalapan, NJ: Happy Day Farm
Happy Day Farm has garnered quite a bit of attention as a must-visit fall destination, and rightfully so. With its 10-acre Maize-O-Poly, the Jersey hotspot keeps guests on their toes as they wander through each path. But this is just one of many ways to stay entertained: you’ll find a long list of other family-friendly activities throughout the farm like pumpkin bowling, bee barn visits, tractor pulls, and a fun slide that kids won’t want to skip.
🌽 Read a book set in New Jersey OR with a 0 or 1 in the page count (include page count) OR where a character goes bowling.

7. Danvers, MA: Connors Farm
Are you ready to find your way out of this barnyard-animal-themed, seven-acre corn maze? This year's design features a few farm animals (a pig, duck, cow, and more), making it especially fun for the younger crowd. Connors Farm has been operating since 1904, so we're confident this maze will leave you, well, amazed.
🌽 Read a book set in Massachusetts OR with a 7 in the page count (include page count) OR with a barnyard animal mentioned (share the animal).
From Feuding to Falling - Jules Bennett (HD #2852 - Feb 2022) (horse) - Sept 9

8. Dixon, CA: Cool Patch Pumpkins
Cool Patch Pumpkins—which currently holds the Guinness Book of World Record for creating the planet’s biggest corn maze—is showing its support for veterans who have served in the military with its annual corn maze setup. While there, don't forget to enjoy pedal cars, hay rides, and of course, pumpkin picking.
🌽 Read a book set in California OR with a 4 or 5 in the page count (include page count) OR with a veteran in the story.
A SEAL's Surrender - Tawny Weber (HB #739 - Mar 2013) (California/military) - Sept 14

9. Spanish Fork, UT: Cornbelly's
Part of the Maize family, which has launched intricate, record-breaking labyrinths across the globe, Cornbelly's has mazes at two different locations this year: Spanish Fork and Lehi. Pick either one you'll find plenty of other seasonal goodies, too—climbing walls, corn holes, farm mini golf, and more. With kids or without, it's a great way to spend a fall weekend.
🌽 Read a book set in Utah OR with a 2 or 9 in the page count (include page count) OR where a character plays cornhole or mini golf.
Colton Countdown - Tara Taylor Quinn (HRS #2187 - July 2022) (cornhole) - Oct 1

10. Queens, NY: The Amazing Maize Maze at Queens County Farm
No autumn in NYC would be complete without a trek to the Amazing Maize Maze at the Queens County Farm Museum. The American Maze Company builds a labyrinth every year that stretches over several acres, with the length of the course often stretching about two miles. Previous years’ themes have included a violin, a riverboat, a train, a farmscape, and the largest living sundial. This year, you'll find a tribute to the pop art of Andy Warhol, and you can even make your way through the maze by moonlight if you’re more of a night owl.
🌽 Read a book set in New York City OR with a 2 or 6 in the page count (include page count) OR where the MC is an artist (of any kind).
Her Hometown Man - Shannon Stacey (HSE #2882 - Jan 2022) (writer) - Sept 11

11. Shakopee, MN: Sever's Fall Festival
The largest corn maze in Minnesota is certainly no joke: home to the Midwest's largest corn maze, this year's theme will have you searching for fun facts about mythical creatures. Sure, escaping the labyrinth is one thing, but this year they’ve upped the ante: every adventurer that submits their findings after they finish is automatically given a chance to win $500. Challenge accepted!
🌽 Read a book set in Minnesota OR with a 6 or 8 in the page count (include page count) OR with a mythical creature in the story.
Dragonflight - Anne McCaffrey (Ballantine - July 1968) (dragons) - Nov 22

12. Moosup, CT: Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm
Perfect for the younger set, Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm created stations within its corn maze paths that teach visitors all about the animals raised on the grounds (expect a lot of turkey talk). It's the perfect way to enjoy autumn while gaining some farm knowledge while you're at it. Once you've made your way out, celebrate your victory with fresh homemade ice cream (we have our eye on Blossom’s Delight, a butter pecan ice cream with butterscotch chips and vanilla crunch).
🌽 Read a book set in Connecticut OR with a 4 or 5 in the page count (include page count) OR where a character eats ice cream.
Finding Fortune's Secret - Allison Leigh (HSE #2911 - June 2022) (ice cream) - Sept 6

13. Anderson, SC: Denver Downs Farm
Make the most out of fall in South Carolina with a ramble around Denver Downs Farm's 12-acre maze. Farm trivia is available at each checkpoint, and there’s a Maze QR code game that will keep track of your completion time. Don't delay: Top scores are posted online, and you'll want that claim to fame this Halloween season.
🌽 Read a book set in South Carolina OR with a 1 or 2 in the page count (include page count) OR where a score is mentioned in the story.
Counterfeit Courtship - Sinithia Williams (HSE #2952 - Dec 2022) (South Carolina) - Nov 23

14. Harrodsburg, KY: Devine's Corn Maze
Come for the corn maze, stay for the adventure. After navigating your way through Devine's, stop and refuel with snacks at the Corn Cafe before embarking on other activities, including a zipline, tube swings, barnyard basketball, and more.
🌽 Read a book set in Kentucky OR with an 11 (intact) in the page count (include page count) OR where someone "refuels with snacks".
Eagle Mountain Cliffhanger - Cindi Myers (HI #2105 - Nov 2022) (trail mix while hiking) - Oct 14

15. Mount Dora, FL: Long & Scott's Farms
Every year, this 6.5-acre corn maze in Florida finds a new theme to keep guests guessing—and wandering—through its lengthy paths. This year, expect a dinosaur plot full of twists and turns, Q+A games, and picture rubbings. Good luck!
🌽 Read a book set in Florida OR with a 5 or 6 in the page count (include page count) OR where a dinosaur is mentioned.
